Ca avance : le **TTB** a publié une proposition pour la définition légale de l'*American Single Malt Whiskey*. Elle est assez proche de celle initiée par l'**American Single Malt Whiskey Commission** (**ASMWC**) qui réunit près de 100 distilleries membres, à ceci près qu'elle autoriserait l'usage de colorants notamment. Une période de commentaires va s'ouvrir entre les différentes parties afin d'ajuster tout ça et enfin aboutir à la naissance officielle de cette nouvelle catégorie.
